Shortcuts is the best new application Apple has released in years.

Pedants might point out that originally, Shortcuts was know as Workflow - a third party application that Apple bought in 2017. But let’s ignore that, because Shortcuts is now a pre-installed application on iOS and macOS, and its brilliant.

What Shortcuts does is let you write ‘mini-applications’ that run on your iPhone or Mac. It’s really simple programming; almost entirely drag and dropping pieces of a routine together, like Lego.

I try not to install any unnecessary applications onto my devices, so I use Shortcuts all the time to build routines that would otherwise require using third-party applications.

My plan is to write a couple of posts about specific Shortcuts I’ve written.
